Nick Boulle To Step Up at Mosport Motorsports, Blog, News & Events

For the weekend of July 7th to 9th, Nick Boulle will step up to North American endurance racing’s most premier and fastest racing category. The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship features 4 classes of cars starting from GTD, GTLM, PC to Prototype. The Prototype class Nick will compete in features cars from manufacturers such as Cadillac, Mazda, Ligier, Oreca and Nissan that are all based upon a LMP2 car.

This will mark Nick’s first time to compete at the highest level of professional endurance motorsports in North America. Boulle will be returning to a familiar team with PR1 / Mathiasen Motorsports running the number 52 Ligier JS-P217 Gibson powered prototype. These cars also raced at the 24 Hours of Le Mans reaching speeds of up to 214mph on the straights of the Mulsanne circuit thanks to having roughly 650 horsepower. The race will take place at the famous and often treacherous Canadian Tire Motorsport Park just outside of Toronto, Canada. The track, which is 2.5 miles long, features a long back straight and is known for having one of the fastest average speeds of any race track in North America. Thanks to its placement along massive rolling hills with blind exits from many of the fast corners, Mosport is also known as one of the most thrilling driver’s circuits on the continent.

The race will consist of 2hours and 50 minutes of racing waged around the demanding circuit. The field will consist of drivers such as Bruno Senna, Ryan Dalziel, Pipo Derani, Marino Franchitti, Jan Magnussen, and more famous names from around the globe of motorsports. Nick most recently competed in Austin, TX at the Circuit of the Americas running in a Prototype Challenge car. Alongside his co-driver, Justin Wilson, Nick finished in 2nd place at the Advanced AutoParts SportsCar Showdown.

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship round of Canada, the Mobil 1 Candian SportsCar Grand Prix, will be televised on FS1 on July 9th at 11AM CDT – 2PM CDT. It will also be live-streamed here
